David Biehn

Director Of Air Safety Regulation

David joined the CAACI as the Director of Air Safety Regulation (DASR) in September 2009 based in the head-office in Grand Cayman. He has over 30 years of experience in the aviation industry. David started his aviation career in the Canadian Armed Forces where he flew search and rescue operations out of Comox, British Columbia and VIP transport in Lahr Germany. Following his career in the Canadian military David joined Air Canada and spent several years in Winnipeg on the Boeing 727. He joined Transport Canada in 1991 and held positions in the Standards Division and Airline Inspection before assuming the duties of Chief of the Foreign Inspection Division. He holds ratings on numerous aircraft types with his most recent experience being on the Airbus A330.
