Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands’ mission is to ensure effective regulatory oversight for safety of the Cayman Islands civil aviation industry. We are seeking a motivated, highly organized marketing professional, early in their career, with integrated communications experience, who thrives in a collaborative environment and values opportunities to contribute to organizational initiatives, team development, and community engagement.

The Marketing & Communications Officer position is based within the Economic Regulation & Administration Division and is primarily responsible for supporting and coordinating marketing initiatives aligned with strategic priorities, executing campaigns, and communications activities to enhance the organization’s brand awareness and engagement. The role includes assisting with content creation, social media management, event coordination, administrative support, and tracking of marketing performance.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will, under appropriate supervision and direction:

  • Coordinate and assist with the execution of marketing campaigns and promotional activities
  • Manage and update social media platforms and website content
  • Coordinate events, sponsorships, and community outreach initiatives
  • Liaise with vendors, media partners, designers, and suppliers as needed
  • Maintain marketing calendars, databases, and mailing lists
  • Monitor campaign performance and prepare reports on marketing activities
  • Assist with market research, competitor analysis, and brand consistency across all channels
  • Draft press releases, media kits, and public relations materials
  • Support the Authority’s quarterly newsletter, Annual Report, and other publications
  • Support digital marketing initiatives
  • Organise and maintain the Authority’s image library; manage permissions for image use
  • Perform other general office-related duties as directed

 Essential Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related role
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to provide courteous and professional assistance to internal and external customers
  • Ability to type accurately at a minimum speed of 50 words per minute (wpm)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with graphic design and content creation tools
  • Basic understanding of integrated communications principles, including press release writing, special event coordination, experience managing media relations, and brand maintenance
  • Creative thinker with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Salary & Benefits

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications: $40,599.63 – $85,926.75

Benefits include contributory pension, 18 working days’ vacation, 2 wellness days, and comprehensive health insurance.

Eligibility

This position is open to Caymanians and Permanent Residents who meet the essential qualifications. This is an on-island, office-based role requiring regular presence at the office. While flexible working hours may be considered, remote or off-island work arrangements are not available for this role.
