George Town, Grand Cayman, (12 March 2019) – Following the second catastrophic accident of a Boeing 737 Max aircraft, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) is today issuing a safety directive to all air transport operators restricting operation of any Boeing 737 Max 8 or Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft in the airspace of the Cayman Islands, effective 12 March 2019 at 5:00pm. This safety directive will remain in place until further notice.
