Transportation of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 by Aircraft

Published 19 October, 2016

The purpose of this safety advisory is to advise air operators, passengers and crew of the ban prohibiting transportation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone on their person, in carry-on or checked baggage or as cargo, effective from 15th October 2016.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Cayman Islands (CAACI) advises air operators, passengers and crew of this prohibition and is reiterating that Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices not be transported on board any aircraft to, from or within the Cayman Islands due to the manufacturers mandatory recall on all Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices, in light of recent incidents and concerns involving the device exploding or catching fire.

This Safety Advisory is consistent with other National Aviation Authorities statements that have been recently published.
