Capt. Dixon commenced his employment with the Authority in 2018 as a Flight Operation Inspector. Prior to that, he was a Technical Team Lead Flight Operations with Transport Canada based in Toronto, and is an expert in Safety Management Systems (SMS) implementation. Mark has a wealth of experience in Personnel Licensing, Aircraft Registration, and issuance of Special Flight Operations Certificates in addition to being a Pilot Examiner, Approved Check Pilot, and Approved Check Dispatcher. In addition to his conventional Flight Operations background, he has been involved extensively with Unmanned Aircraft certification and approvals.

Prior to joining Transport Canada, Mark was a Flight Instructor, Corporate and Airline Pilot flying a variety of small, medium and large aircraft.

Captain Dixon maintains his professional credentials; Airline Transport Pilot License, Class 1 Instructor, Approved Check Pilot, Approved Check Dispatcher, Pilot Examiner ratings and is a frequent lecturer in the Aviation Masters in Business Administration & Master’s Degree in Science in Safety programs at Emirates Aviation University in Dubai.
